About

Tyche (Tie-Key)

I wanted to post something short to let people know what they can expect from Tyche moving forward. I draw inspiration for my polishes from the stories that I love. I'm drawn to every aspect of storytelling, and I appreciate every piece that goes into my favorite media. Not just the visual effects, but the writing, the music, and the way it makes me feel. The inspirations I choose are stories that made me feel something, and the polishes are ones that I truly enjoyed making and put my heart and soul into.

With that said, I will never release something that I am not fully invested in. With the Expeditioner's launch, I did not put a polish into this line that I didn't love wearing and put on multiple times throughout the curation of the collection. There were three purple forward polishes and two reds in the collection because that's what I felt fit the inspiration and took me back to the moments I was thinking of when I made them.

I know what lane I want to be in when it comes to a niche. I love video games, I love tabletop, I love anime, I love nail polish. This community was here for me through some of the saddest and happiest times of my life. I am constantly in awe of Laqueristas making the most beautiful nail art, and the glass bead contraption women in STEM were some of the funniest days I've had on Reddit.

I want to do justice to the stories I love and the community that welcomed me. When I started making nail polish, I didn't really have a brand in mind. It was more of a pipe dream: "Hey, if I enjoy it and a couple of people want it, I want to give them a chance to wear it," but I'm more than happy just making nail polish for myself. I was a DM for my tabletop group for several years. I crafted my own terrain, 3D printed and painted my own minis and monsters. I just love making things and doing stuff with my hands to quiet my brain. So as long as I keep enjoying it and you enjoy it, it'll keep coming.

That being said, my polishes and collections won't be for everyone. Looking at upcoming collections, some of them are...weird. But that's okay, the people they're for will love them, and the people they aren't for can hopefully appreciate the passion that goes into them. My goal is a quarterly release with mini collections in between for things that don't necessarily fit my niche, but with the way I curate my collections, it's possible for me to delay or push a release. I'd never sell something I wouldn't wear myself, so if I'm not in love with a collection, it's not going out until I am.

Lastly, I plan on being very swatcher forward. I am thinking of ways to help elevate swatchers trying to break into swatching with any platform I may get, and I am exploring ways to make sure the swatchers that work with me are adequately compensated for all of the beautiful work they do in highlighting the artistic style in my polishes and for just being lovely friends to me during this process. There is so much work, and skill and art that goes into what they do and I appreciate everything my friends have done to help me with my polishes and for having trust and faith in me as a brand. I've made a lot of friends here and I really appreciate all of the support and encouragement.

For shop information, I plan on doing all updates on the website blog, instagram and via a newsletter. The only two newsletter releases I plan on (to keep the emails down) are 7 to 10 days out from a launch and launch day. Additionally, if there are ever any shipping delays or order issues, I will communicate those via email updates and blog posts as well. As far as socials, the only social I ever really plan to be active on is Instagram. If you need to get in touch support@tychelacquer.com is the best way to do so.

All of that is a long-winded way of saying that I appreciate that you're here, that you read this, that you found something in my polishes that you enjoy, and I'm happy to keep sharing them with you all as long as you love them. I have some fun collection inspirations coming up: Gachiakuta, Solo Leveling, Demon Slayer, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Miyazaki/Ghibli, Hades, and Baldur's Gate, to name a few that I currently have collections working for. I also just started Apothecary Diaries based on the comments on my first giveaway, and I love it and have definitely been inspired by it!

Thank you for being here early, thank you for reading through this and for putting your trust in me as a brand. I appreciate you and will do everything possible to make sure I deliver a quality polish made with a lot of love and inspiration.
